COVID-19 and stagnant revenue have been significant challenges to our city budget. Thanks to federal funding in 2020 and 2021 the impact on our ability to serve residents has been limited. Over the next several budgets, we will need to carefully manage our resources and thoughtfully use the federal resources to the greatest benefit of our community and its residents.

That means:

• Continually engaging residents to ensure that our budgetary choices reflect the highest priorities of our residents.

• Continue to enhance our technological capabilities that makes our work more efficient and accessible and supports the continued success of our staff.

• Being good stewards of our resources and ensuring that federal money goes toward meaningful projects that advance community goals.
