Transparent and Responsive Government

I am committed to government that is accessible, open, and responsive to all of our residents. That means being transparent and open about my opinions on issues, being available to residents, and actively engaging people from throughout the community to participate in our civic discussion. I’ve spent my time on City Council living up to these standards. As mayor, I will always:

• be transparent and open about my opinions on an issue – including when I feel like I don’t know enough to have an opinion yet.

• be available to the people of this community. I will continue to hold regular “office hours” where anyone can drop in and talk to me about any concerns or ideas they have.

• do my best to actively engage and invite people from throughout the community to participate in our civic discussion, because I believe active citizenship is like much else in life. The more you do it, the better you get at it—and the best way to get started is for someone to invite you to begin.
